Health Care
Health Care Training:
In late 2012, Nightingale Trust expanded its training scope to include HAST (HIV, AIDs, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Tuberculosis). Between December 2012 and January 2015 we trained 459 learners in various districts of the Eastern Cape. We were contracted by Small Projects Foundation to complete this training.
Next we expanded into Primary Health Care training, and trained 17 learners from Missionvale Care Centre in September 2013 and 20 learners from Care Ministry in March 2014.
Monthly life skills workshops were presented to 11 volunteers from Care Ministry between February 2014 and March 2015. We also assisted Care Ministry with training of their volunteers in tailor-made courses covering Women’s Health, Contraception, Alzheimer’s and home based care basics.
In July 2015 we achieved full accreditation status with the HWSETA, and at present our courses are on offer for organisational-groups (CBOs, NGOs, FBOs or companies). The options for training include:
- Full qualification: National Certificate: Community Health Work (SAQA ID: 64749) (NQF Level 2)(140 credits)
- One of our registered skills programmes
Entry Requirements:
The following are pre-determined entry requirements set by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) for this qualification:
- Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1, ABET Level 4.
- Communication at NQF Level 1, ABET Level 4
